The integrated Assure MIMIX for HA/DR solution makes it easy for you to protect your IBM i workloads when you open a Skytap account in the Azure Marketplace.

Integrated Assure MIMIX for HA/DR in the Skytap UI
A new Assure MIMIX Licensing enablement option can now be made available within your Skytap Environment by Skytap support or your account team. Once this feature is enabled in your environment, it can be found in VM Settings – Licenses titled “Enable Assure MIMIX for IBM i” and it will allow you to implement Assure MIMIX on a Skytap LPAR with an installation of Assure MIMIX that includes cloud-specific tuning of policies and pre-configured data groups for system replication.
Getting started with integrated Assure MIMIX for HA/DR for IBM i workloads in Skytap on Azure
Prerequisites: The Skytap integrated Assure MIMIX for HA/DR package supports the following IBM i OS release levels (please note the technology refresh levels):
- OS 7.5 (Base release)
- OS 7.4 (Technology Refresh 5)
- OS 7.3 (Technology Refresh 11)
Instructions:
- Enable Assure MIMIX for IBM i on both the source and target LPARs in VM Settings as described above in the Integrated Assure MIMIX for HA/DR in the Skytap UI section
- Apply recommended PTFs following the steps here
- Install Assure MIMIX using the new Installation steps described in the Skytap Documentation
- Configure Assure MIMIX using the guided configuration workflow
Note: Assure MIMIX will be implemented on both the source and target systems in the same installation step.
